About Me

I’m Rita, a film composer and sound designer currently finishing my master’s degree in sound design & film scoring in Cannes. My work sits at the intersection of music and sound, where I combine orchestral writing, electronic production, and field recording to create immersive sonic worlds.

I’m particularly interested in how sound shapes perception and storytelling. Whether I’m designing textures from recorded environments, producing hybrid scores, or building interactive audio systems , I focus on crafting experiences that feel both detailed and emotionally grounded.

My background in synthesis, sound design, and music production allows me to move fluidly between linear and interactive formats—from film and visual media to game audio.

I’m always looking to collaborate on projects that value sound as a core part of the narrative.

I was fortunate enough to grow up in a music school in the heart of Portugal that provided me with the opportunity to become familiar with every instrument. I have been playing the piano since I was 8 years old. During college, I studied Music Production, Sound Design, Live Recording, and Composition. Blending all of that experience with my classical training and extensive knowledge in music theory has enabled me to embrace broad horizons and experiment with various different sounds.

In 2021, I released my EP "After Dark," featuring 5 instrumental pieces primarily showcasing the piano within a somber ambiance.

In 2022, I released my single "Through The Leaves," a lighter piece centered around the tranquility of the natural world.

In 2023, I participated in the Screen Composers Academy Summer Program for Film and Game Composers in Glyfada, Greece, where I had the opportunity to have my pieces recorded by a live orchestra at Sierra Studios in Athens.

In 2025 I was selected for the mentorship program at Ubisoft where I worked on Audio design and implementation under the guidance of Alexandre Schultz (Ubisoft Montpelier).
